‘Gigi & Nate’ release date and stills

According to Variety, ‘Gigi & Nate’ has been acquired by Roadside Attractions and will be released on September 2. Some new stills have also been released and you can see those in the gallery.


Roadside Attractions has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Free Turn’s “Gigi & Nate.” The film stars Charlie Rowe, Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden, and Jim Belushi, and is based on true events. It tells the story of Nate Gibson, a young man whose life is turned upside down after he suffers a near-fatal illness and is left a quadriplegic.

And “Gigi & Nate” also serves as the introduction to a pint-sized, though still formidable, new talent. Making her big-screen debut in the titular role of service animal “Gigi” is Allie, an adorable capuchin monkey. In the movie, Gigi is trained to assist Nate with his basic needs and helps him rediscover his sense of hope. Look for audiences to fall in love with Allie/Gigi when Roadside Attractions releases the film exclusively in theaters on Sept. 2, 2022.

New project – ‘The Natural’

According to TheBookseller, Charlie has acquired the rights to adapt a short story called ‘The Natural’ to a short film. Read more at the link or below.

British actor Charlie Rowe has acquired screen rights to make a short film of writer and translator Jen Calleja’s short story “The Natural”.

The story appears in Calleja’s debut short story collection I’m Afraid That’s All We’ve Got Time For, published by Prototype in 2020, which Rowe picked up from Burley Fisher Books in Dalston while back in the UK between shoots in LA. He later signed the rights from Prototype.

The story follows the struggling actor Willem who, in a last ditch attempt at trying to find success, contacts the famous Maltese actress Marianne R for advice. He is surprised to hear back from her, and even more surprised that she offers to meet him, and by the bizarre meeting that follows.

Rowe added: “I read ‘The Natural’ at the right time in my life. I felt it had to be adapted immediately. Jen’s heartfelt story spoke to me and I’m overjoyed that she allowed us the rights and we can begin this journey together.”
