Since ‘Rocketman’ is now out on digital download, I’ve added screencaps from the movie to the gallery. So check those out!
Charlie has been interviewed by Fashionbeans as part of the promo for ‘Rocketman’ (which is out now by the way). You can read the interview at the link and see some new awesome photoshoot images below. Charlie also did a Haul or Nothing for ASOS and you can see a short video of that here.
“He’s a little bit of a joke in the movie”, Charlie admits of his character. “You’re made to feel as if he isn’t up for the task, or he’s this posh kid surrounded by these music talents.” The eyebrows raise, “But I just wanted to portray him as this guy who was into Elton and into his job. I didn’t want Ray to feel like he was a joke.”
Charlie’s role in the film isn’t huge, but Ray Williams plays a pivotal part in Elton’s career – he gave him his big break (in real life too, although the relationship “sort of ended quite badly”). The actor, who grew up in north London, was worried he wouldn’t be in the film at all though.
“I had to go and see it the day before the premiere, because I was so nervous. I didn’t know how much of my part was going to be in it. I hadn’t spoken to Dexter Fletcher (the director) as to whether I was still in it [at all].”
As the year draws to a close, I have added some additional images from past events to the gallery. From ‘Red Band Society’ promo tour back in 2014, to ‘daisie’ launch this year (sadly the only public event Charlie attended this year). So check them out.
To sum up the year, there was lots of Chalrie on TV. First in ‘Salvation’, which was sadly cancelled after two seasons, and the in ‘Vanity Fair’ (which is now on Amazon for the US, so check that out as well). And we have a new, as of yet unspecified, movie role to look forward to next year, with Charlie being in the Elton John biopic ‘Rocketman’ with Taron Egerton and Jamie Bell. So see you all next year!
